Fanshawe TV Students Win National Awards

The Broadcast Educator’s Association of Canada (BEAC) has honoured three Fanshawe TV students in this year’s BEAC National Student Awards. Student Co-Producers, Christina Lacaria and Adriane German shared the award for Television Series or Special with “Fanshawe TV On Campus Best of 2009”. Fanshawe TV On Campus is a weekly series collaborative of TV Broadcasting, TV News and Digital Post Production students which airs on Rogers TV, Fanshawe TV and fanshawetv.ca. The episode submitted was a compilation of several segments in the “Best of 2009″ episode.

Also winning from Fanshawe TV, was 2010 graduate Eric Neumann, who won the BEAC National Student Award for Animation for his work entitled “Neumannvision Logo”. Their were over 140 entries to the annual awards and the winners were acknowledged at the National BEAC Conference and Awards Gala at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in Toronto in May. The Awards Gala was also streamed live on the BEAC website.You can watch the student award winning clips right here on www.fanshawetv.ca.

Trauma and Treatment

Fanshawe College students responded to a weekend of emergency scenarios at the annual Trauma and Treatment event. On October 16th and 17th, students received mock 911 calls and dispatched emergency service students to respond to the simulated crises. Fanshawe TV was at the site to capture the efforts of the students on camera. Check back soon for some incredible video footage!
