Welcome! If you are on this page there is a good chance that you are interested in the television-broadcasting program at Fanshawe College. Television Broadcasting is a fantastic program because:
- You get hands on experience running a television station
- You get access to software used in the industry
- The facilities are up to date with the industry standard - Fanshawe TV made the switch to HD in the summer of 2011
- Great teachers, students, and lots of opportunities!
Fanshawe College and Western University of Canada offer offer a collaborative and innovatice joint degreee/diploma. Click here to learn more.
Lets take a look at some of our facilities.
Here is our Main Control Room (below). This is where the Director, Producer, Production Assistant, Deko, CCU, and the Teleprompter all work together to make the show run smoothly. Students are assigned or choose different roles throughout the program. You get a chance to try everything! The shows/episodes are either taped or broadcast live on Fanshawe TV.

Next we have the Audio Booth (below). One or two students work in here and are responsible for making sure the talent has a working microphone, audio levels, music, playing music for the server, and a lot more. TV would be boring without Audio!

Next we have Master Control (below) or sometimes called Control Room 2. This control room may be number 2 but it is extremely important. It runs commercials, and outputs the Control Room 1 signal to the rest of the school or to the tape. If it weren’t for Master Control, we would we watching a blank screen.

Next we have the studios. All the studios have HD cameras, professional lights, and bulkheads to get the information from the studio to the control rooms and then to the viewer!
This is Studio 1 (below).

This is Studio 3. It is in the area where the journalism students work.

Studio 2 is where our weather and Green Screen magic happens. Unfortunately, we don’t have a picture at this time. Sorry!
Now here are some pictures of the classrooms, the television pit (where students meet to work on future episodes, scripts and rundowns), and editing suites. Students have access to these rooms 24/7.
